First, there will be an introduction to the current problems of e-mail privacy. Secondly, Userli is presented, as part of a solution, Userli is a FOSS web application to (self-) manage email users and encrypt their mailboxes. Even the mail servers system administrator can't read your mail when it's stored in the mailbox. Userli is focused on the self-management of small communities and therefore provides an invite mechanism, domain-specific admins, and other roles. Mail aliases help you to hide your identity from third-party services.
Userli utilizes the Dovecot MailCrypt plugin and libsodium to allow users to encrypt their mailbox and reset their passwords without losing access to their mails and without providing personal information.
